"In My Secret Closet, There Are Sights Yet To Behold; In My Secret Closet There are Stories Still Untold;Welcome To My Destiny,Oh You Who Travels Far Let's Try To Reach Out For The Moon, Perhaps We'll Catch A Star......"

-N. Cole 1999
The word Unforgettable does not nearly begin to describe Natalie's artistry on Snowfall on the Sahara. This CD is TOUGH!

Natalie has managed to pull off what most artist could only dream of with this CD. She has definitely included every part of her twenty five years in the business. Natalie's assistant and friend has called Natalie A Gift. That she is, one to be treasured for her accomplishments and talent.

As I listen to the work and the love that has been poured into this CD, I realize how much she truly embodies the real definition of a Diva. Not only does Natalie Sing lead vocals, background vocals and arrange some of the tunes on this CD but she also Co-writes the title tune and is Executive Producer with Phil Ramone. She is Multitalented,Multidimensional(what would we do without YOU!!). I am amazed as I listen to her on Every Day I Have The Blues Wow! She then does a song that was a favorite of mine from a long time ago Say You Love Me. Her version is different and definitely another wonderful love song that is enhanced not only by Natalie's voice but by the help of her wonderful friend Luther Vandross helping on background vocals as well as helping on the arrangement! It is that type of R&B sound that her fans are definitely glad to have back. Keep em coming Natalie. Natalie has done a rousing version of Reverend Lee that keeps my foot stomping and the music blasting. It is truly funky! You Go Girl!!! Corinna is another song that I can't seem to stop listening to. She does a fantastic job on the remake of this old Taj Mahal tune. Gotta Serve Somebody(Ain't it the truth)reminds me of Natalie's song Be Thankful. There is truly a message in this music. Stay With Me and More Than You'll Ever Know definitely remind me of the Natalie of the 70's and 80's with a voice that has done nothing but gotten better; if that was at all possible. I know I speak for quite a few fans We Love You no matter what you sing but it sure is Good to have you back. I definitely say go grab yourself a copy of this CD. I have two!!

another fan's reaction to Snowfall in the Sahara:

This is David I have had my CD for 2 weeks and believe me I love it. She has done it again not that there was any doubts. This shows her's years of experience as the original DIVA! There are extraordinary ranges and wonderful classic Natalie sounds as well as wonderful new dimensions in her music. If I were to rate this on a scale of 1-100 she gets 250! Besides I can't help it love her she puts the melody in my song.

Yet Another Die Hard Natalie Fan: But I personally Love this C.D. It has such a variety of emotion that only Natalie could pull off. She does a perfect interpretation of all the styles. There are too many favorites on the album to list so I will say the only ones thats not is I'm dreaming and since you asked. But even those songs Natalie delivery is superb. I love that Natalie didn't succumb to the music ind. way of thinking that you must have lyrics and music that has profanity or boom boom bass so no one can see you can't sing. Natalie Cole is the definition of a TRUE DIVA. A TRUE SINGER. a TRUE ARTIST. and A REAL BEAUTIFUL PERSON who I give all my love as she sings "A SONG FOR YOU" (us, her fans).

A new Fan Speaks: Though not a big fan of hers, I picked up Natalie Cole's new album, SNOWFALL ON THE SAHARA and it is nothing short of brilliance. Natalie covers Judy Collins' "Since You Asked", the classic "A Song for You" and Dylan's "Gotta Serve Somebody" (for which he wrote an additional verse for Natalie. Rounding out the album is a cover of the Jerry Ragovoy tune used in the movie "The Rose" titled "Stay With Me", one of the most passionate bits of singing I've heard from anyone lately!
Another Fan Speaks:

I've Been playing "Snow Fall" and it's not bad. But It could have been alot better. There were moments when one could hear the "Old" natalie coming through. All-n-All the last song is a KILLER! Sister is whaling away.

JFH Speaks: Okay, so here's the deal.

I'm loving very much the following:

  • A Song for You ( A Nancy Wilson signature song )
  • Say You Love Me (An Jennifer Holiday tune)
  • Everyday I Have The Blues (I see she has a like for these Basie Tunes and so do I)
  • I love be-bop
  • His Eyes, Her Eyes ( I just melt the way she wraps herself around lush ballads like this)
  • Since You Asked (Judy Collins tune...very nice choice)
  • GOTTA SERVE SOMEBODY (also GREAT choice)
  • I'm liking the following with second tier fervor:

  • Snowfall on the Sahara (although the chorus has imbedded itself in my memory...so it will probably grow to the above realm)
  • More Than You'll Ever Know
  • With My Eyes Wide Open I'm Dreaming
  • Corinna
  • They could have found some other selections instead of these I think...but it's still early...after repetitive listenings, things may change.

  • Reverend Lee
  • Stay With Me (Not a Favorite at all...I don't know what Elton John was thinking.)
  • That's all I have to say for now...in my not so humble opinion.
